What Are Fibromyalgia Trigger Points?
When we talk about fibromyalgia trigger points we are referring to the specific areas on the body where a fibromyalgia patient feel acute pain. The fibromyalgia syndrome is often characterized by two primary symptoms. One main symptom is sensation of pain at about 10 to 20 particular spots on the body. These spots are also known as 'tender points'. A fibromyalgia patient can detect where his or her fibromyalgia trigger points are by touching and feeling around the body. When a particular place when touch, triggers a sharp pain similar to how one would feel when pressure is applied on a bruise. What Causes Fibromyalgia Trigger Points? The opinions of authorities vary on the issue of what causes fibromyalgia trigger points. This would circulate oxygen to your muscles, which together with the anti-oxidants would gradually ease away the pain. A word of caution though - you should stop once you start this treatment. You need to stick strictly to the prescribed diet. The diet could be adjusted regularly depending on the developments. However, you would need to continue to exercise even after you feel better. Many people make the pain of stopping the regime. They think they are cured when the pain subsides and disappear. However, this form of treatment is only making up for what the muscle lack. When you stop, the muscles would suffer from the deficiency again and you would find yourself struck by the terrible pain again.
