The body has the ability to manufacture Vitamin D in the skin upon exposure to sunlight. It is recommended to have exposure to sunlight for about 15 to 30 minutes. Hence, limited exposure to sunlight due to climatic reasons, lifestyle choice or any other reason, can result in vitamin D deficiency in the body.

Some health experts are now endorsing the notion that short exposure of unprotected sun exposure can be good for health, especially for fibromyalgia sufferers.
